It Started with a Dream

Ocean Properties & Management, Inc. was founded on the values of family, service, and a dedication to helping others achieve the American Dream of homeownership. In 1980, Bill and Toni Roe left Ohio in search of a warmer, coastal lifestyle and the chance to fulfill Bill’s dream of living near the ocean. What began with managing a few local condominiums soon evolved into a thriving real estate and vacation rental business. In 1986, Bill earned his real estate license and officially established Ocean Properties & Management, Inc. As the demand for vacation rental services grew, Toni brought her travel industry experience to the table and launched Ocean Properties Vacation Rentals, Inc., adding a personal, guest-focused touch to the growing family business.

Our Location

In 1994, Bill and Toni opened the doors to their centrally located office at 3500 South Atlantic Avenue in New Smyrna Beach, and proudly raised the largest American flag in the area. The flag quickly became a recognizable landmark for locals and visitors alike, honoring their deep love for country and their family's legacy of military service. More than just an office, this location was thoughtfully chosen to serve as a central hub for everyone we serve. It remains the heart of our operations, providing a welcoming space for check-ins, consultations, and ongoing support. From the very beginning, our mission was about more than property. It was about creating a sense of belonging and helping people find their place in the New Smyrna Beach community, whether for a weekend, a season, or a lifetime.

Carrying the Legacy Forward

Today, daughters Jodi Roe Desoto and Margy Roe proudly continue what their parents began, bringing the same passion, integrity, and commitment to every aspect of the business. Jodi leads the real estate division alongside her husband, Broker Kelley Desoto, while Margy manages vacation rentals and marketing with a strong focus on service and community. At Ocean Properties, we’re not just helping people find homes or book vacations, we’re helping them build memories, invest in their future, and achieve their version of the American Dream.

Our company is made up of two distinct divisions that allow us to serve a wide range of clients:

Ocean Properties & Management, Inc. specializes in real estate sales and long-term property management, helping families and investors find the right home or rental while providing dependable, hands-on support for owners.

Ocean Properties Vacation Rentals, Inc. focuses exclusively on vacation rental management and short-term stays, delivering exceptional service to property owners and unforgettable experiences to guests.

When our family moved to Florida in 1980, we weren’t just escaping cold Ohio winters. We were looking for a fresh start in the warmth, sunshine, and sense of community that New Smyrna Beach offers. What we found was more than a home. We found our dream, and it inspired us to help others experience that same feeling.

That’s why in 1986, we started Ocean Properties & Management, Inc. with one clear purpose: to help families and property owners feel confident, supported, and at home here.
